  1. Color scheme. Before choosing a centerpiece, make a note of the color schemes of your other holiday décor. You don’t want a centerpiece that clashes with your holiday candles or place settings.

 

  1. Type of meal. It might be a good idea to consider the type of meal you intend to serve, as well as how you plan to serve it. For example, if you are going to prepare a Christmas ham, think about arranging it on the table in relation to the place settings and centerpiece.
